Safe driving at 16! Free and independent

AN INGENIOUS CONSTRUCTION MAKES IT POSSIBLE!

Can be registered throughout the EU, can be driven with an A1 driving license

How does that work?

How is it possible to drive a car at the age of 16 with an A1 license?

The Geparda engineers were faced with the task of developing a special rear axle: a dual wheel had to be guided in order to meet the special approval requirements. All safety systems such as ABS and the electronic stability program (ESP) had to continue to function without restriction. Maximum safety was the premise - safety is the measure of all things for our young drivers!

Optimum driving performance

The driving behavior and suspension comfort should be excellent and prevent bouncing or swaying - especially in tricky situations. Numerous test kilometers later, the suspension and axle were optimally tuned: changed axle? Not perceptible!

Complex test procedure for the axle

The changed loads on the axle were checked in many test drives, and the material thickness and production were adjusted accordingly. In several laboratory tests, a load was simulated - which is far above the standard that can be expected in conventional driving - and the axle was certified accordingly. An impressive result: optimum driving behavior with high safety reserves!

POWER OUTPUT 20 HP

The engine with its 999 cc must be throttled to 20 hp at the age of 16 in order to obtain a driver's license.

Reducing power - a simple electronic intervention or a power throttle would have been sufficient, but would have had a negative impact on driving behavior, resulting in an inharmonious power delivery. The most important goal of the Geparda engineers was therefore to generate a "diesel-like" torque and to achieve a full revving of the engine.

Advantage: the Geparda drives perfectly and reaches a high speed of more than 110 km/h on the straight without any effort.

Whether in the city, on the country road or on the highway - the high torque means there is little need to change gear and the power delivery is extremely harmonious.

Countless test drives on the roller dynamometer were necessary until the engineers were satisfied and the correct mapping for the injection was programmed.

Extremely low fuel consumption

Low fuel consumption was at the top of the list of requirements. The perfect, differentiated programming of the power reduction results in very low fuel consumption: the Geparda shines with low maintenance costs and can also be driven in an extremely environmentally friendly manner.

Tests before approval

The Geparda was put through its paces by independent testing organizations: Braking behavior, compliance with exhaust and noise regulations, handling, the strength of the new axle, the functionality of the safety systems and all other legal requirements were met.

Look forward to your Geparda!
